Interior birds eye maple veneer, 2 copper relief panels, glass panels with painted stylised floral motifs in gold, surface slightly repolished, copper fittings (partially hammered), base faced in copper, very good condition

The two mirror-image copper reliefs that represent two women looking at each other, show the great influence that Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald had on the Austrian art scene. Apparently, a number of their works, which were shown at the VIII Vienna Secession Exhibition in 1900, served as models for this wonderful relief
