These rocks are decorated with a squirrel with vines and the other with pine trees and a crane. In Chinese symbolism the squirrel is often depicted with grapes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Squirrels have great reproductive powers and grapes grow abundantly on the vine. The combination form a rebus for the wish for many generations of sons and grandsons. To the Chinese the crane stands for immortality, because its white feathers are synonymous for old age. This bird is also associated with immortals, as it carries them on its back. The pines also stand for longevity.
So the message here can be read as 'May you enjoy longevity as the crane and pine'. It is a combination used often as a birthday motif, wishing them a long life.
