Description & Technical information
designed by: Adolf Loos, Vienna, around 1905
executed by: Friedrich Otto Schmidt, Vienna
In her reference work, "Adolf Loos, Wohnkonzepte und Möbelentwürfe" (dining and side tables), Dr. Eva B. Ottillinger writes: "The final model, which is also the one with the most variations, has a round table top on a central leg, which is either round or polygonal. This type of table became […] the most interesting variation of this model with a grid-like, perforated construction, and can also be found in the form of a small side table, as can be seen in contemporary photographs of the interior of the Hirsch apartment in 1929".
The archives of the F. O. Schmidt company provide an old design sketch showing an almost identical table that was given the model number 395.
