Attributed to Louis Aucoc
A very fine Art Nouveau gold, enamel and plique-à-jour enamel pendant,
depicting the birth of Venus in gold, standing on a pink enamel shell lifted by two green and orange enamel fish, against a multi-coloured plique-à-jour enamel landscape with sunset, in a green enamel floral frame depicting two purple enamel iris flowers, suspending a large natural pearl.
Circa:
Circa 1895.
Signature:
Although unsigned, we believe this pendant is the work of Louis Aucoc. The superb quality of the enamelling, using both mat and shiny plique-à-jour enamel together with mat and shiny enamel demonstrates Aucoc's mastery of workmanship. Besides the overall appearance of the pendant (its shape, theme and details) breaths undoubtfully Aucoc's signature.
Dimensions:
7 cm x 3,45 cm.
