Charles le Bastier was apprentice to Gabriel Vougny at the age of fourteen and six months. On 16th December 1754 he is registered as a resident in Paris on the rue Thevenot working for the master Jean Moynat. Charles le Bastier was officially recorded as a goldsmith in 1751. His work can be found in some of the most important collections including the Louvre, Victoria & Albert Museum, one of which was bequeathed by George Michael and The Royal Collection.
