Founded in 1978, the gallery Francis Janssens van der Maelen is located in the Grand Sablon in Brussels, privileged address for the art trade. Specialised in antique silverware and works of art, J. van der Maelen offers a wide selection of European decorative silver from the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries along with Art Nouveau and Art Deco objects. These objects were mostly made in France, Belgium, England and Russia. Some terracotta and bronze statuettes, porcelain pieces and earthenware are also available. Francis Janssens van de Maelen is a member of the French Syndicate of the Antique Dealers and of the Royal Chamber of the Antique Dealers of Belgium.
