An Impressive Napoleon III Gilt-Bronze Figural Torchère by Goelzer Poumaroux, Paris.

Signed to the plinth ‘A. GOELZER & POUMAROUX, PARIS’.

This impressive chased and patinated bronze torchère is modelled as a child therm figure holding aloft a vase decorated with floral garlands, issuing a thirteen-light candelabrum with scrolling arms. The figure is raised on a tapering square section volute support with trailing foliate decoration and finely cast lion heads. The base has four scrolling acanthus feet put down on a lobed plinth.
