Description & Technical information

Le Pont Corneille à Rouen exemplifies Gustave Loiseau's life-long fascination for the river Seine in France, which the Pierre Corneille bridge is over, and its tributaries. Set in the popular town of Rouen, the work captures the passing of the water in a moment of muted light. Avoiding the strong light of midday, Loiseau often preferred the softer crepuscular light of morning or evening.
