Description & Technical information
This work may be compared with the contemporary explorations of Nicolas
de Stael, where viewers can simultaneously perceive either an abstract
or a figurative painting depending on their moods. Here, we can
distinguish the sea in the lower section in the foreground, the
embankment of the Toulon harbour, houses with their windows and finally a
blue sky under a red sun bathing the rest of the scene at sunset.
