Description & Technical information
Model designed circa 1863-1864, this version in 1885 and this bronze cast in 1968.
This
sculpture was inspired by an old man known as "Bibi" from the
Saint-Marcel district in Paris. Rodin accentuated some features such as
the broken nose the deep wrinkles and the beard.
