This beautiful work was painted in 1906 at the height
of the artist’s career. By this point Moret had fully developed his richly coloured landscapes and seascapes of which Bateaux de pêche, Audierne belongs. This painting depicts fishing boats off the coast of Audierne in North-Western France, capturing the effects of light and weather upon the rough seas.
