Of trumpet flower shape decorated with bead and wirework, each with three foxtail chains emerging and having pearl terminals, scroll surmount and back-hinged hoop fittings, French gold assay marks.

The Neopolitan jeweller, Luigi Casalta, who established his business in 1851 supplied jewels to the Imperial Court of Austria, the Royal Court of Italy, and to H.R.H. Princess Louise of Prussia. He specialised in the realisation of antique bindings, objects d'art and jewellery in the Etruscan and Roman styles using gold, cameo, coral and lava from Vesuvius.
