Description & Technical information
European Market
Price: £3,000
A very rare small vase of unusual form, having two large handles, decorated in famille rose enamels with peonies.
This unusual vase is unrecorded and combines European and Chinese forms. The handles are clearly of European design but the main vase is similar to types found in early Chinese bronzes - as well as classical urns. An extensive search through the literature on Chinese export porcelain has not found any other example of a vase of this type.

Period: 18th century, Qianlong period
