A rare Chinese export famille rose teapot stand of lobed hexagonal form, painted with a scene of the Nativity, after an engraving by Jan Luyken in the Lutheran Nederduyste Bijbel, 1750 Most examples of this scene are in grisaille and on dinner plates, examples from teaservices are not recorded, so it is possible that only one or two such services were ever ordered. This lobed hexagonal dish was a stand for a teapot and there would have been only one in the service.
