Description & Technical information

Finely decorated on a puce ground, the reversible tops with shaped candle nozzles, each vase decorated with rustic scenes within scrollwork cartouches, unusually embellished with gilt bronze garlands and foliage, supported on tall cylindrical plinths, decorated in blue and gilt, the bases with finely chased ormolu mounts and feet.

An almost identical pair is on display in the Ceramics Gallery in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
