Description & Technical information
Complete, and in excellent condition, this is a pocket Bible from Paris that fits nicely in your hand. The decorative scheme includes illuminated initials before every book of the Bible; the eight historiated initials are above-average examples of the work of two Parisian ateliers. Neat corrections to the text throughout, some comparing the text to different biblical versions, are of particular interest. The attractive modern binding preserves pastedowns and endleaves from thirteenth-century manuscripts.
