Description & Technical information

The steel helmet is depicted with a wide band of floral decoration in gold overlay. On the top of the helmet are three plume holders and a sliding nose guard to the front. The chainmail is decorated with riveted links with painted gold overlay creating a zigzag pattern.  Similar Indian kulah khuds can be found in The Wallace Collection, London, The National Museum, New Delhi, and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, see Accession Number 3421:1to:4/(IS) (Helmet, Lahore, early 19th century).
