Provenance: Found in Akhmin, Egypt, in 1904. Sold in Drouot in April 1905, lot 457, by P. Philip at Me Lair-Dubreuil's auction house, appraised by M. Bing. Acquired at the sale by M. René Gimpel, then passed down within the same family, conserved in the family residence of Ménerbes, Provence.
