Cupid is in the act of playing the lyra and advances to the right, turning his head backwards,  contemplating a butterfly. This iconography refers to the allegory of Psyche (The soul) following Love (Cupid). The figure is engraved with great finesse due to the rendering of the anatomical volumes and its attributes.
