Founded in Brussels in 1980, Grusenmeyer Gallery — now known as Grusenmeyer-Woliner — is led by Karim Grusenmeyer and Damien Woliner, two partners from long-established families of art dealers. Internationally recognised for its expertise, the gallery focuses on sculpture from Asia, Africa, and Classical antiquity. It offers a carefully curated selection of works chosen for their refined aesthetics, cultural richness, and impeccable provenance. The collection spans a wide range of sculptural traditions, from India and Southeast Asia to Egypt, Rome, Africa, and Oceania. Karim Grusenmeyer, who holds a degree in Sinology, specialises in Southeast Asian sculpture and archaeology, supported by extensive academic and field experience. Damien Woliner brings in-depth expertise in Tribal art, Classical antiquities, and European archaeology. Their complementary areas of knowledge shape a dynamic curatorial approach that highlights the richness of world cultures through exceptional works. Both are members of the ROCAD and the Belgian Chamber of Art Experts. Karim Grusenmeyer is also a co-founder of 5 Continents Editions, a Milan-based publishing house specialising in the arts.
