Louis XVI three gold oval box, master goldsmith Jean George Paris
Hinged oval box in three-tone gold, decorated on the perimeter of the lid with a wavelet frieze, two rosettes and a central medallion featuring four putti playing with a dog on a leash. The reverse of the box is identical, but features the attributes of love (torch, arrow, quiver) in the reserve. The frame is composed of four panels separated by pilasters, each housing a reserve decorated with birds, a chalice and an ewer in a plant frame. The rim of the snuffbox is engraved “George à Paris”.
