With octogonal bezel, the intaglio depicts a butterfly holding a lion by its bridle running to the left. The feline tramples a snike. Slight wear marks. This Roman composition is characterized by a refined execution with the presence of globular elements. The octagonal shape of the stone seems to have been created in a later period. 

This unusual scene of allegorical meaning, symbolizes the power of the spirit (Psyche) over brutal force and meeting insidious obstacles.
