The goddess is helmeted and facing left. Wear marks. 
Zeus' favorite daughter, Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, the arts and military strategies. In this cabochon carving, the deity faces left and wears a helmet and an aegis from which small snakes extend, an emblem of protection.
