A section of fossil walrus tusk engraved with a remarkable battle scene showing two men attacking a surrounded victim.
The warrior on the left is using a composite bow to shoot an arrow at the central, headless figure who is also being attacked by the knife wielding warrior from the right. All three are wearing lamellar body armor made of walrus-tusk or walrus or seal-rib slats. Thule culture. c. 1000 - 1600 AD. 17,8 cm.
