The lights retain the original shaped glass storm shades.
The Athenienne design with triform support is inspired from the Antique and was popularised by Robert Adam from the late 18th century and well into the Regency period.
Two comparable variations of the 'design of a tripod and vase for candles' were published in
R. & J. Adam, Works in Architecture, London 1773.
