Description & Technical information

Weight: 91.5g, of rectangular form, the cover and base each mounted with a panel inset with the fine dot and cellwork, to the cover a principal scallop shell hung around with leafy and floral garlands, flowers to the corners and with a scrolling dot border, the slightly bevelled rim with a dentil band, all highlighted by mother-of-pearl accents, the base with similar smaller floral spray to centre and spandrels, reeded gold rims, the sides and curved thumbpiece chased and engraved with a scrolling foliate band on a stipple ground.
