Description & Technical information
The chair is composed of rectangular elements, with lavish inlaid back splat. The openings in the back splat, arm rests and seating are stringed with cord. They were well suited to convey their owner’s political power and economic status.
Similar examples can be found in the Art Institute of Chicago and Peabody Essex Museum.
