Description & Technical information
Large carved ivory Christ. The head of Christ is raised to the sky and crowned with the crown of thorns. He is dressed in a perizonium with horizontal folds and a pendant on the left side. His feet are side by side and his hands have folded doights. His anatomy is treated with a mastery that is accentuated by a beautiful honey-coloured patina. Presented in an 18th century frame from the Amadeo Montanari Gallery. Restored velvet.
French work from the end of the 18th century.
