Silver, chased and hammered, bead–and-reel decoration, silver-plated brass clapper

In a simplified version, Hoffmann used the handle top formed of spheres as early as 1904 when designing the lid of a silver sugar bowl (Jugendstil Auction, Dorotheum, May 2011).
