Description & Technical information

An important Egyptian red porphyry centrepiece or cup supported by three putti fishing for shells in patinated bronze. One of them is sitting on a dolphin and blowing into a conch shell. The moving bed is scattered with shells and reeds. The group rests on a circular base also in porphyry, encircled with pearls and laurel leaves in gilt bronze.
