The X-frame headed by boldly carved paterae with a central tablet carved with lotus leaves and a fluted band. The Legs terminating in well-carved lions paw feet. The seat upholstered in blue and white striped silk.
The design for this classic Regency stool is taken directly from Plate 53 in George Smith’s celebrated ‘A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture’ published in 1808 titled ‘Drawing Room X Seats.’
