Obviously the Amsterdamse School played a great role in launching new tendencies in the world of textiles in the Netherlands just before the First World War. The designs are closely related to natural elements but worked out in a stylised way. Even though some resemblance with other European works is perceptible, the Dutch style has very distinguishing features.
