Saruk is the heart of the Ferahan. It was known for excellent qualities, its well achieved productions of a high level.
Around the end of the 19th century the pressure put on carpet production by western customers weakened the work in the area. One was not so much inclined to discover new patterns and pleasing the demand of the market played an important part. Nonetheless, one still can say that the area still uses excellent materials and in harder times comes back to some more imaginative patterns.
