Description & Technical information
Designed by: Josef Hoffmann, around 1906
Executed by: Wiener Werkstätte
The design of the handle of our cake server is identical to the one exhibited as part of the wedding table service from the 1906 Wiener Werkstätte exhibition "Der gedeckte Tisch" [The Set Table]. The blade of the cake server also corresponds to the "Rundes Modell" [round model] cutlery set shown there. Interestingly, in the archives of the Wiener Werkstätte we were unable to find either a photograph or a design sketch.
