Inside the showcase mahogany veneer, brass fittings, cut and facetted glasses and mirror, surface professionally repolished, very good condition
designed by: Gustav Siegel, Vienna, 1906
executed by: J. & J. Kohn, model no. 600/7
In the Italian edition of the J. & J. Kohn catalogue for 1906 this showcase is offered as an "Armadietti per salotto" i.e. a living room cabinet. There is an illustration of a salon (A19) in the magazine The Studio—"Year-book of Decorative Art 1908"—which shows furniture designed by Gustav Siegel. Even though this showcase is not visible in the documentation, it clearly exhibits the stylistic details of the salon mirror which in the illustration.
