Consisting of 9 parts
carved wood, original gilding, mint condition, mirrored glass like new as the surtout de table has never been in use.
H 4.5 cm, W 74.5 cm; the round centrepiece (Ø 74.5 cm) is extendable with 7 parts, each of 59 cm length, step by step up to a maximum of approx. 488 cm.
The surtout de table was designed by Oswald Haerdtl for the Austrian Embassy in Ankara planned by Clemens Holzmeister. It was produced by Max Welz but it was never delivered. We are in possession of a written confirmation by the Koch-Welz company that Max Welz executed the surtout and that Oswald Haerdtl was the designer.
