Description & Technical information

The shaped stepped rectangular top with brass mouldings rests on the rectangular commode with a curved face.
It presents three drawers each with brass mouldings, ormolu octagonal handles and at the center large canted flutes.
Each corner with rosettes and canted flutes terminating on angle square tapering legs with ormolu sabots.
A small secret drawer in the plinth under the central canted flutes.

Similar commodes are illustrated in "Russian Furniture, the Golden Age" by Antoine Chenevière, (p. 130, 131). One of the commodes is at Pavlovsk Palace, the other at the Ermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.
