Comprised of exotic materials, the lid lifting to reveal a larger compartment for feathers and other writing utensils, three smaller sections for inks, wax, sponges and other implements, the right side containing a small locked lower drawer for paper, retaining the original hinges, locks and key.
Probably of Antwerp origin, this refined compact coffret ecritoire was designed to be portable. In beautiful condition, the high quality of the materials used and construction reflect the social station of its owner.
