Description & Technical information
A large rectangular tile moulded and finely painted representing the legendary Persian love story between Khosrow and Shirin. As Shirin is depicted partially undressed and washing her hair, she is being watched over by her old chaperone who shields her beauty from Khosrow II (Sassanian King) by holding up a towel. Shirin, the Armenian princess later becomes his Queen.
