Description & Technical information

European Market

A pair of Chinese export porcelain dinner plates decorated in bright famille rose enamels with a central scene of a pair of Mandarin ducks, the rim with the eight Daoist immortals.

Mandarin ducks mate for life and a pair of them in Chinese art symbolises marital fidelity and so, associated here with the eight Immortals, this design represents enduring love.
