Description & Technical information

Sir Alfred Munnings was one of the finest British
Impressionist painters of the 20th century. His work largely depicts rural
scenes, racing and hunting, and most commonly his favourite animal, the noble
horse. This piece, An Autumn Afternoon, dated 1904 is an
early work painted just six years before Munnings visited the village of
Lamorna in Cornwall, becoming associated with the artists of the Newlyn school.
