Description & Technical information
Throughout his career, Swebach-Desfontaines was particularly admired for his paintings, drawings and engravings of equestrian subjects. A painting of a similar subject, dated 1819, is in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, while a related drawing is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Orléans.
