Description & Technical information
A preparatory study for the head of Christ in one of Luigi Sabatelli's etchings of the Via Crucis; a series of prints of the Stations of the Cross that were widely disseminated throughout Tuscany. The series was designed by Sabatelli in 1795 and etched by Giovanni Battista Cecchi, and was published in 1800.

Signature: Inscribed Sabatelli and ECCE HOMO! at the lower left and lower right.
