Description & Technical information

The design of the base, the use of padouk and the brass catch to the underside correspond to the Chippendale oeuvre. One comparable piece is the well-documented padouk bookcase at Dumfries House in Scotland. Drawings by Chippendale for a related table base and legs are preserved in the Harewood House archives, Yorkshire.
