Pair of rare famille rose candlesticks of European silver form on octagonal bases, painted with Chinese falconry scenes on a gilt ground.
An elegant pair of candlesticks in good condition, with well painted famille rose decoration in the 'mandarin' style popular for Chiense export porcelain the third quarter of the eighteenth century.
These are copying a European metal form, either brass or silver. Such items are relatively rare in Chinese export porcelain and often have not survived in good condition.
