With middle girdle wire, twin lion head masks supporting ring handles either side, under the girdle wire flat cased Greek key pattern, raised on a flaring collet foot, gadrooned rims, the low domed split-centred cover opening on hinges at each side with flat chair-back thumbpieces, revealing within the circular egg carrier, with four pierced supporting wells to a flat panel, raised on a disc base, central handle formed by an upright wire with ball finial supported by a semi-circle strut, engraved cypher with coronet twice to body and egg-holder, the initials DEG or variation thereof, accompanied by a photocopy of a 1978 valuation for insurance from Garrard.
