Description & Technical information
An Empire ormolu table top perfume burner "potpourri" decorated with antique masks flanked by griffons resting on a foot chiselled with crosspieces, above a rectangular base decorated on the main faces with scenes depicting four figures in a landscape. The openwork lid is adorned with palmettes, foliages, small flowers and stars. Two winged Hermes playing trumpets, sitting on the dish containing the perfume, form the handles. The set is resting on four massive claw feet heightened with foliages above a black marble plinth.
