On an earlier gold and turquoise clasp, the oblong box links of hollow square section, to each side a raised figure-of-eight foliate scroll, upon a facetted barrel clasp studded around the middle with collet set turquoises, c.1840, foliate scroll engraved ground, tests as 18ct gold
