Description & Technical information

Lesrel was born at Genet in France in 1839 and although the exact date of his death is not known, it is thought he died during the first quarter of the 20th century.
He was influenced by the famous French artist Meissonier, and developed a style which combines attention to detail with a brilliant technique and a feeling for colour.

Lesrel was elected to The Society of French Artists in 1885 and received an award in 1889. He also exhibited at the Salon de la Nationale de Beaux-Arts in Paris, to which he was elected in 1890.

Lesrel's work is in many private collections and museums.
