This silver oval box is intricately engraved with a hinged lid. The deity Ganesha depicted on the top cover amidst scrolling foliage and leaf-shaped border. The inside with two central compartments, to the right and left sides two more hinged compartments, the bottom of the box marked with “O.M. BHUJ”. Oomersi Mawji was appointed Court Silversmith to His Highness The Mahrao of Cutch (see Wilkinson, Indian Silver, London, Wynyard R T Wilkinson, 1999, p. 69).
